A Public Regulated Property Company (SIRP for short) is a company:
- incorporated for an indefinite period;
- who carries on one or more of the activities referred to, as the case may be, in Articles 4 or 76/5 of the SIR Law;
- which is approved as such by the FSMA;
- whose shares are admitted for trading on a regulated market, and;
- which raises its financial resources, in Belgium or abroad, by means of a public offer of shares.
As a real estate company, its main purpose is:
- the construction, acquisition, management, development or sale, as well as the leasing of real estate on it’s own behalf;
- the exercise of one or more of the activities referred to in Article 4, § 1 and/or Article 4, § 1 of the RREC Act;
- or holding shares in companies with a similar purpose.
